ECF welcomes new Board Chairperson

At its recent meeting in Richmond, Virginia, Todd Anderson became the new Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Episcopal Church Foundation (ECF), succeeding Michael Penfield of Portland, Oregon. Todd was first elected to the board in 2017 and has served as Chair of the Advancement Committee and member of the Finance and Audit Committees. In 2022, he was selected by his colleagues as the Chair-elect. During his tenure, Todd has focused his energies on enhancing internal fundraising and development, measuring ECF’s impact and scope, and deepening the organization’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

“Todd is the ideal person to serve as board chair at this juncture in ECF’s history especially as we anticipate our 75th Anniversary in 2024,” remarked ECF President Donald V. Romanik. “He brings experience, energy and passion to this position and I am excited to work with him as ECF continues to discern our future.”

Todd is an experienced financial services compliance executive and is currently the Vice President of Compliance Advisory at Discover Financial Services. Previously he held the positions of Chief Compliance Officer at Alliant Credit Union; Chief Compliance Officer at Alliance Data; and various leadership positions at Capital One Financial. Todd is a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Goochland, VA and has served in various other leadership and ministry positions throughout the Episcopal Church. He earned his BA and MBA at the College of William & Mary.

Todd and his spouse Wes Clay-Anderson have two sons, Davis and Noah, and reside in Maidens, Virginia.
