Money Legacies, a New Book by Donald V. Romanik

ECF President Donald V. Romanik is coming out with another book, Money Legacies, on February 22, 2022, published by Church Publishing Inc.

This concise volume explores the one subject that is still taboo, “especially in church circles and especially among Episcopalians” – money. How much do you have? What do you spend it on? “Most of us would agree that money, and how we spend it, is the clear indication of our values and priorities.”

In Money Legacies, Mr. Romanik points out that Jesus had no problem talking about money, in fact, “It’s pretty amazing how much Jesus talks about money.”

However, such an important topic gets short shrift in polite conversations and this avoidance carries through into important discussions about stewardship. “Stewardship is not only one aspect of Christian life, it is the summation and culmination of how we live as followers of Jesus,” says Mr. Romanik.

Why does this happen and how can we change? Each of us has a story about our attitudes towards money, a legacy from our upbringing that permeates everything we do. Money Legacies digs deep into how these stories and attitudes affect faith-based conversations.

Money Legacies will be available February 22, 2022 from Church Publishing Inc.
