ECF Welcomes Three New Directors

October 30, 2019, New York, NY - The Board of Directors of the Episcopal Church Foundation (ECF) recently elected three new board members: Reynolds Cafferata from Los Angeles, California, Cynthia Cannon McWhirter from San Antonio, Texas and Susan Bell Trickett from Denver, Colorado.

Donald V. Romanik, President of ECF said, “We are thrilled to welcome Reynolds, Cynthia and Susan to the ECF board. All three are incredibly talented and committed leaders in their fields and in our Church. They will be a great asset as we continue to discern our role as a holistic resource to Episcopal faith communities.”

Reynolds is a Partner at Rodriguez, Horii, Choi & Cafferata LLP. His practice is concentrated in the area of non-profit, tax, estate and trust law, advising charitable organizations and individuals regarding complex charitable gifts and trusts, the creation and operation of donor advised funds, and private foundations. He is a member of St. Mark’s, Altadena, CA, where he serves as Chancellor, Lay Eucharistic Minister and Member of the Capital Campaign Committee. Reynolds also is a Director of the Corporation of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles.

Cynthia served as Executive Director of the Consortium of Endowed Episcopal Parishes for 19 years, retiring in May, 2018. Through her work for the Consortium, she gained an extensive understanding of the challenges and blessings of managing parishes with endowments, as well as knowledge of the resources available throughout the Church for such parishes. She is a lifelong Episcopalian and member of Christ Episcopal Church in San Antonio, Texas, where she serves on the Altar Guild, the Annual Stewardship Campaign and Hospitality Committee.

Susan is a Research Director with over 20 years of experience in all aspects of applied research and evaluation, with an emphasis on translating results into actionable recommendations. Her current position is with the Colorado Division of Criminal Justice’s EPIC team (Evidence-Based Practices Implementation for Capacity). She is a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Denver, CO, having served as a vestry member, senior warden, capital campaign co-chair, and stewardship chair. She is an Acolyte and Reader and a member of various outreach and fundraising ministries.

ECF’s Board of Directors will convene in New York on November 7-9, 2019, where they will focus on the strategic direction of the organization and ECF’s missional and partnership opportunities throughout the Church.
